Grown for local conditions

We are a plant nursery on Waiheke Island, growing locally sourced native plants.

Gulf Trees is situated at Awaawaroa Bay Village, a community, farm and conservation project on 169ha of land on the south coast of the Island, east of Onetangi.

We specialise in eco-sourced native species and sell to a variety of customers. Much of our work is supplying stock for large scale re-vegetation projects on Waiheke or in the Hauraki Gulf. We sell a lot of plants to Auckland Council for their planting projects. Over the years we have sent plants to MotuiheMotutapu, Browns, Rotoroa, Pakihi, Aotea & Rakino Islands. We are happy to collect local seed from the Gulf Islands and propagate from them.

Some of our main customers are Waiheke landowners who are involved with re-vegetation projects, often with the help of conservation grants from Auckland Council or DOC. Gulf Trees also sells to the landscape trade on Waiheke & to the home gardener
